With the Asus Transformer Infinity 700 making preparations for the upcoming release date we took an interest in learning as much as possible about the tablet in question. Lately the handset has gone a bit under the radar but with the launch date set for this summer, we figured out that we should answer a few questions some of you might have, such as what are the advantages of the Infinity 700 over the Transformer Prime.
On the other hand, although we’re perhaps even more excited about the Asus Padfone, lately we haven’t heard much about the handset in question and we were starting to wonder what will happen with the Padfone and its US launch. Needless to say, in case you’re planning on buying either one of the two mentioned upcoming Asus devices, fret not because they appear to be right back on tracks, heading towards US shores. Join us after the break for more.
Asus Transformer Infinity 700 Release Date at AT&T
During a recent press conference Asus has finally spilled the beans in regards to the Asus Transformer Infinity 700 and its arrival on the US shores. We’ve previously talked about the July Australian Asus Transformer Infinity release date, and we also pointed out that the US launch should take place rather closer to the earlier announced June 10 launch in Italy as the Aussies are not exactly famous for having exclusivity over devices. Fortunately we were not too far off and Asus confirmed that both the Wi-Fi and LTE versions of the device will be available via AT&T by the end of June.
In terms of pricing Asus has only revealed that the tablet will have a price of $499.99 (probably with a two year contract with the carreir) but they haven’t announced which version will have what price tag. Nevertheless, we suspect that the LTE version will be more costly than that.
Asus Padfone Release Date at AT&T
I personally find the Asus Padfone to be one of the most interesting gadgets to hit the market this year, perhaps solely because it takes the Transformer concept one step further. We’ve explained what the Asus Padfone is all about on numerous occasions so if you wish to learn more about what it can do feel free to check out our Asus Padfone quick preview.
Now let’s get on with the availability of the Asus Padfone in the US. According to the press conference the only US carrier to take the Padfone under its wing was AT&T, and although there is no exact release date or price tag in sight, things are moving in the right direction, albeit a bit slow.
Nevertheless, judging by what we’ve learned so far and considering the fact that the Padfone is expected to hit the Australian market in July, once again we can speculate that the US launch will take place before late-June / early-July.
We’re definitely going to keep an eye on both these devices and we’ll keep you up to date with future developments, so stay tuned. Also, since the Asus Padfone launch in the US might coincide with that of the Samsung Galaxy S3, feel free to drop us a line and let us know which one you would rather pick.
Thanks Android Authority for the heads-up regarding the Asus Padfone and Transformer Infinity coming to AT&T.
