Asus Transformer Prime Competition: Quad Core Acer Iconia A700 Tablet

by bogdan on January 14, 2012

The Asus Transformer Prime isn’t the only kid on the block with a lot of brawn, at least not after the guys at Acer decided to unleash their own little beast: enter the Acer Iconia A700 tablet (also known as the next generation Acer Iconia Tab). And while the Prime is currently the only player on the quad-core market, things are going to get pretty interesting very soon as the competition wants a share of the market: a quad-core Lenovo 10 inch tablet is already in the making, HTC Quattro is looming on the horizon (MWC cannot come any sooner) and ZTE is trying to make a name for itself in the states with Tegra 3 tablets meant for Sprint and Verizon.

Anyway, let’s get back to the subject at hand – the Acer A700 quad core Tablet. Since we like to offer you all the info we have, let’s take a look over the Acer Iconia A700 specs.

Acer Iconia A700

Things are looking pretty good this year and 2012 is starting with a bang, with the arrival of a new quad-core tablet in the form of the Acer Iconia A700 (or Acer Iconia Tab, depending on which name you fancy). And the competition is going to be pretty tight, since there can be only one (remember Highlander ?) and Acer has put together a very interesting tablet.

The Acer Iconia A700 specs will be featuring a 10.1-inch 1080p display offering a perfect 1920 x 1080 resolution, a most likely NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and two cameras while the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS is also expected to be present.

I know it’s not much, but these Acer Iconia A700 specs alone will make it stand out from the crowd and turn it into a serious contender for the Asus Transformer Prime.

We’ll definitely keep you updated with whatever info we’ll get regarding the Acer Iconia A700, as the future definitely looks brighter than ever in the tablet-world and with the arrival of the 1080p, well, we’re surely getting somewhere.

What do you guys think about the next generation of the Acer Iconia Tab ? Do you think it will stand a good chance against the Asus Transformer Prime, at least judging from the specs we have now ?

Many thanks to Droid Life for letting us know of the arrival of the Acer Iconia A700 Tablet.
