During the past few weeks we’ve talked a great deal about the latest Windows Phone 8 platform and the hardware that carries it, including the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC 8X, but despite all that, we haven’t forgot about the previous generation of Windows Phone 7-powered smartphones.
In fact, it’s quite difficult to forget all about them since they’ve seen the light of day in 2012. I know that WP 8 stole the thunder, but there are still quite a few Windows Phone 7 users out there that will not update to the new platform for months to come.
But, the good news is that software updates are going to arrive in the future on WP 7-powered devices as well, and WP 7.8 is expected to land pretty soon, but until then, if you happen to own the Samsung Focus 2 at AT&T then you might want to know that there’s already an update waiting for you.
AT&T Samsung Focus 2 OS Update
The Samsung Focus has been launched on the market about six months ago so it’s still a pretty fresh device, or it should be. But in all fairness, the gadget isn’t packing the biggest punch so it won’t benefit from the same longevity as the Galaxy S3, the Samsung flagship phone that has also seen the light of day about a half a year ago.
Nevertheless, new software updates are always welcomed and in case you happen to own the Samsung Focus 2 from AT&T then you might be happy to find out that Windows Phone 7.5 Tango has arrived. The update brings a handful of changes and additions, including new wallpapers, improved push notifications, further optimizations, the ability to send ringtones via MMS, letter indexing and more.
The new OS will also be followed by another Samsung firmware update that should also bring a few improvements of its own.
Anyone rocking the Focus 2, and if so, have you been able to bring the gadget up to 7.5 Tango?
Thanks WP Central for the heads-up regarding the AT&T Samsung Focus 2 WP 7.5 Tango update.
