If you happen to be the proud owner of a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet then you must be eagerly anticipating the release of the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. The new OS has been dubbed as one “that makes the PlayBook actually useful” and we cannot agree more: native e-mail, calendar and contact apps, a better keyboard and the ability to run ported Android apps should breathe new life in this often underrated tablet.
BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 Release Date
Even though the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 release date was said to take place on February 17th, Friday was just an ordinary one as far as RIM is concerned and people have started asking, again, when will the new OS be deployed. A likely candidate is February 21st and this release date is backed up by a leaked document.
Of course, this leak is by no means an official statement, but we can at least hope that this Tuesday will bring us the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 and since no other rumors have been flying around, we’ll stick with it for the time being.
Check out the leaked doc, according to which the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 release date that is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21st.
Better yet, users could get access the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 update as early as 4 in the morning, though that time is of no use at the moment, since the timezone has not been specified and we wouldn’t want to make people get up at 4 A.M. for nothing.
The BlackBerry Mobile Fusion was also announced to see the light of day next Tuesday, at least according to the leak.
We’ll have to wait and see if this holds any water and if the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 release date will turn out to be real, but we see no reason not to think it will be. What do you guys think ?
Many thanks to PocketNow for bringing us the news about the rumored BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 release date.
