Sprint: Yes To BlackBerry Q10, No To BlackBerry Z10
Sprint customers and BlackBerry enthusiasts, today we have a mixed bag of news for you, assuming of course that you were planning on buying a new BlackBerry 10 OS-based smartphone on the aforementioned network.
You may already know by now that the BlackBerry Z10 is expected to arrive in the US in a matter of weeks, and that the gadget will arrive in the States via three major carriers. Well, up until now Sprint has been missing in action when it came to delivering the new BB line-up, but more recently we’ve received word that the carrier is somewhat interested in what BlackBerry has to offer.
BlackBerry Q10 at Sprint, Z10 Is Not Going To Happen
Alright people, so here’s the situation. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have all officially announced that the full-touchscreen BlackBerry Z10 will arrive on their shelves once the gadget reaches the US shores, but Sprint hasn’t shown any interest in the Z10 whatsoever. Many enthusiasts have been wondering whether or not the gadget will eventually arrive on Sprint’s network, and the answer is a definite “no”.
Nevertheless, the good news is that, if you’re a Sprint and BlackBerry enthusiast, the carrier hasn’t forgotten all about BB. However, according to a Sprint representative, the carrier believes that its customers will be happier with the BlackBerry Q10 instead of the Z10, and that’s what they’ll deliver.
The BlackBerry Q10 is the latest QWERTY handset created by the Canadian smartphone manufacturer, and evidently many people that are fond of the older BB design philosophy will find the Q10 very interesting.
That being said, depending on each individual’s needs, this bit of news coming from Sprint is either a good or a bad one. I guess it would’ve been even better if the carrier would’ve delivered both the BlackBerry Q10 and the Z10, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
As for the BlackBerry Q10 release date, the smartphone is expected to go on sale, in the US, sometime in Q2 and hopefully Sprint will pick it up within the same timeframe as well.
Thanks Phone Arena for the heads-up regarding the BlackBerry Q10 coming to Sprint.
