The rumor mill is being powered by some of the largest rivers and winds on the planet because there have been new speculations made in regards to the upcoming Nexus smartphone. Google and Samsung made a pretty good team with the Google Nexus S so it’s great to see them work together again for the upcoming Google Nexus Prime which according to the latest rumors and speculations will come accompanied by a tablet. If you thought that the device was out of this world until now, then keep on reading for the rundown!
According to the latest teaser video released by Samsung and Joe Lancaster, the Google Nexus Prime (or Samsung Galaxy Nexus according to some sources) will have a parent in crimes in the shape of a tablet. The teaser isn’t revealing much, but with some speculation here and some wishful thinking there, we’ve got some more things to go on in regards to the upcoming Nexus device. As such, the Nexus Prime will be able to dock to an Android tablet and the 3 dots on the side of the device suggest a landscape docking mode of the device with the tablet.
The image which stirred the commotion shows a curved device and “behind it” or on top of it, we get to see the curves continuing. I’m not much of an expert, but to me it just looks like the lines are there to accentuate the curved display, yet I’m no genius, so let’s go on with the rumors.
The tablet behind the “Nexus Prime” is suggested to come with a curved display as well and this could also shed some light in regards to the theme of the video “perfect combination” suggesting that the two would go hand in hand both in terms of specs as well as design lines and style.
Going on with the current hypothesis, the Google Nexus Prime will take a few design hints from the Nexus S, so we might indeed be seeing a contoured display on the Nexus Prime. There are a number of reasons for which this is a good call on Samsung’s and Google’s part – the smartphone will feel better against the face, the typing experience is improved and you also get less reflections from the sunlight or light sources. The contoured display on the Nexus S was well received and appreciated, so the two companies might just go with it as well for the Nexus Prime.
There have been a few attempts at pushing the whole docking system concept, yet none of those were as successful as initially anticipated, so there could be some reasons to worry in this aspect, yet if someone could pull it off, that would be Samsung holding hands with Google.
Google Nexus Prime Release Date
We were all disappointed that the Unpacked event got cancelled. However, Samsung and Google bounced back pretty quickly and announced that the unveil will be held in Hong Kong on October 19th. We’re hoping that they will also announce the (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) Google Nexus Prime release date and that the on-going patent war hasn’t determined the manufacturer to reconsider the device or its release date.
Of course there are other sources with info regarding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date like a Verizon memo, a riddle and others. Interested ? Check out out Google Nexus Prime release date and specs guide.
