I’m pretty confident that most of you planning to buy a new tablet this summer are considering, or at least have considered at one point, buying the Google Nexus 7 once it hits the market. A Tegra 3 powered tablet for the price of $199? It’s quite difficult to turn down this kind of deal.
But, the Nexus 7 is not the best tablet in the world. It simply offers a great value for money, and in case you are amongst those who are still planning on getting one once it goes on sale, there’s not much more time to wait. Indeed, the Google Nexus 7 is now available for pre-order at Staples. Unfortunately, the downside is that at this point in time only the 16 GB version is available, but if the beefier Nexus 7 was the one you would’ve picked up anyway, then you’re in for a treat. The price remains the same as if you were to pre-order it from Google Play, so it will set you back $250. The 8 GB $200 version will most likely be available for purchase later on this month.
So, how much time will you have to wait before the Nexus 7 arrives? Well, according to Staples the release date of the device in Canadian stores will be July 23. It’s an estimated launch date and it’s apparently slated 4 days later than the expected launch in the UK, but it’s nothing certain. However, at least it gives us an idea on what to expect.
