In case you happen to own a HTC Droid Incredible 2 or a Thunderbolt then you might already know that the expected Ice Cream Sandwich roll-out deadline for both devices was the end of August. As reported earlier, when it comes to the Thunderbolt, HTC has officially confirmed that they’ve missed their deadline and that the manufacturer is working hand in hand with Verizon in order to deliver the update as soon as possible. They haven’t mentioned anything about a new timeframe, but there you have it. Perhaps they want to make sure this time.
HTC Droid Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich
The Droid Incredible 2 suffered the same fate despite the fact that last month we’ve seen a fairly functional leaked Ice Cream Sandwich RUU for the device. Back then we hoped that the manufacturer will weed out the bugs in a timely manner. Evidently, that didn’t happen. Join us after the break and learn what HTC had to say about this.
Obviously, HTC Droid Incredible 2 owners have started questioning HTC regarding Android 4.0 and the missed deadline. HTC replied in the same manner they did to Thunderbolt owners, apologized, admitted that they’ve missed their timeframe and promised that they are currently working diligently alongside Verizon in order to roll-out the update as soon as possible.
Once again no new timeframe has been given by HTC but we’re hoping for the best. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we find out more and if you want to kill some time, you might want to give that ICS RUU a try. It’s not working perfectly but it might help you take your mind off of the official OTA.
Thanks Droid Life for the heads-up regarding the HTC Droid Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich.
