Lately I feel like we’ve talked about Android 4.1 Jelly Bean more often than we did about Ice Cream Sandwich, and since Google and manufacturers like Asus, Samsung and HTC seem in a hurry to get JB on some of their gadgets, I’m sure we’ll talk about this particular update for months to come.
Speaking of HTC, in case you own a One X, One XL or a One S then you might already be aware of the fact that the manufacturer officially announced its intentions on launching Android 4.1 on the above mentioned handsets. This was great news indeed, but we began to wonder, isn’t HTC missing something?
HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, HTC Evo 4G LTE Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
Fact of the matter is, there are a few HTC devices out there that have been recently launched, and we’re really wondering why the manufacturer hasn’t mentioned them in their list of devices planned for getting the update in the coming months.
One of these handsets is the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE which, to be honest, deserves Android 4.1 just as much as the One series. Not to mention the fact that the gadget in question was released months after the One X.
In our minds there’s no doubt that Jelly Bean will arrive on the Droid Incredible 4G LTE but we find it unfortunate that HTC was not confident enough to include the Incredible in their list of “soon-to-be-updated” devices.
Also, there’s no word on the HTC Evo 4G LTE either, which in case you don’t know, is Sprint’s version of the One X.
So what we can make of all this is that HTC is definitely planning to roll-out JB on both the Incredible 4G LTE and the Evo 4G LTE, but since the U.S. carriers (Verizon and Sprint in this case) tend to slow down things tremendously when it comes to updates, the manufacturer decided to leave the announcement for later on. When exactly will these handsets be updated to Jelly Bean is unknown, but we’re bound to find out something new soon enough.
Stay tuned as we’ll keep you up to speed with the latest.
