As you may recall, last month word around the campfire was that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Sprint’s HTC Evo 3D should hit the waves by the end of June. Nevertheless, with the end of the month in our rear-view mirror and with ICS for Sprint’s Evo 3D nowhere to be seen, we are still wondering what’s with the holdup, especially after we’ve witnessed the launch of Virgin Mobile’s HTC Evo V 4G with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.
HTC Evo 3D Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4 ICS)
Unfortunately, the situation has not changed and the highly anticipated update is still nowhere to be found on Sprint’s Evo 3D, but what makes this whole deal even more frustrating is not only that Virgin Mobile’s variant got Android 4 ICS at launch, but now the Evo 3Ds out of the US have just received the update as well.

HTC Evo 3D Ice Cream Sandwich Rolling Out - Just Not For Sprint (Android 4 ICS)
To summarize things up, Android 4 on the HTC Evo 3D is currently available almost everywhere except the US. Good news for those residing in Europe indeed, and by the way, drop us a line and let us know how the update process went and all that good stuff. We hope that ICS has made your Evo 3D experience much more pleasant.
As for when the update should hit the Evo 3D at Sprint, your guess is as good as ours. There is still hope left for an “early July” rollout, although everything points towards a delay. We hope Sprint gets things sorted out soon enough and we definitely hope that this update has not been delayed for so long in order to make the HTC Evo 4G LTE even more appealing.
We’re keeping a close eye on Sprint’s Evo 3D, so stay tuned!
Thanks AndroidCentral for the heads-up regarding the HTC Evo 3D Ice Cream Sandwich update.
