New HTC One Update Brings Enhancements and Bug Fixes

By now everybody knows about the camera component shortage issue that HTC ran into before the One was released last month. However, the handset is apparently beating all the odds, as it looks like even with the constant supply issues that the Taiwan-based manufacturer had to overcome, the HTC One is selling like hot cakes.

In case you’re one of the many Canadian HTC One owners, you’ll be happy to find out that there’s a new firmware update available for your smartphone, update that will bring several enhancements and bug fixes. More details below.

Those of you who live in Canada and purchased a HTC One from Bell, Virgin Mobile, Rogers or TELUS will be happy to know that HTC has recently started rolling out a new update for your handset.

While there isn’t a very explicit changelog available, Bell tells us that the new firmware version (1.29.666.17) should bring several enhancements as well as bug fixes. Various users have reported that, after applying the update, the handset’s responsiveness has been improved and the sensitivity of the capacitive buttons has been fixed.

Have you checked if the new firmware update is available for you (this being an OTA release)? If not, you can do so right away by going to Settings -> About -> Software updates. After applying the new HTC One update, don’t forget to drop us a line and let us know if you noticed any other enhancement or bug fix.
