HTC One X Release Date at AT&T: Beginning Of May ?

by Catalin on April 1, 2012

After a somewhat poor performance last year, HTC is making quite the comeback. The new One-series of Android smartphones looks excellent on paper and in photos as well. The HTC One X is the most anticipated of the bunch, because of its quad-core processor, but this time around, we focus on the AT&T HTC One X and its release date.

The HTC One X appeared at the FCC a while ago, something hinting at an upcoming release. Then again, that could have been written off as simply HTC covering all their bases. But the latest news suggests otherwise.

Someone who pre-ordered the AT&T HTC One X from BestBuy just posted up an e-mail with an answer from the retailer. It seems that the HTC One X release date is set for May 6. The e-mail even gives an SKU (that’s a stock-keeping unit) for the device. Unfortunately, the number does not show up just yet.

It might be that BestBuy jumped the gun on this one, but we were hearing rumors of the HTC One X AT&T variant release date closing in. There were rumors of the AT&T One X being delayed because of manufacturing issues, but it seems that we are not dealing with such a huge delay after all.

British carrier O2 revealed that the One series would hit their stores in April. The slight delay on the US version might be indeed caused by the Qualcomm chip manufacturing issues. If you were looking forward to see the HTC One X with the Tegra 3 processor, T-Mobile is most likely to offer it sometime this summer.

Sprint might also join in on the One lineup fun, with rumors circulating around an April 4 event hosted by the network and HTC. The two companies worked together well on the release of the HTC Evo 3D as well as the HTC Flyer. So this might turn out just fine for those looking to pick up the handset with Sprint.
