If you have been keeping an eye on the industry news during the last month or so than you definitely have heard of HTC Rezound. I mean, who hasn’t heard of Verizon’s infamous trio (HTC Rezound, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Droid RAZR), trio that at some point was supposed (or rumored if you will) to hit the market on the same day (November 10th).
The HTC Rezound has been officially announced at a New York City event were Verizon and HTC have pretty much confirmed our expectations. Yep folks, this is quite an awesome smartphone we’re talking about but let’s start with the beginning.
First of all, this is the first Beats Audio powered smartphone that will arrive on the US shores (HTC Sensation XE and HTC Sensation XL are meant for other markets). For those of you not up to speed, the Beats Audio technology should offer unparalleled audio quality (if you’re using the included Beats earbuds).
Of course, the latest version of HTC Sense and the 4G LTE radio are part of the HTC Rezound features and it totally makes sense as the Rezound is HTC’s flagship phone in the US (don’t forget about T-Mobile’s HTC Amaze tough). Now that we have talked about the so called “extra” features (yes, some of you will disagree) let’s see what really makes this smartphone tick:
- 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8660 dual core processor
- 1 GB of DDR2 RAM
- 16 GB of internal storage (and a 16 GB micro SD card)
- a 4.3 inch true 720p HD display (HTC’s first model with an HD display)
- an 8 MP rear-camera (1080p video recording, f2.2 lens – just like the awesome camera we’ve seen on the HTC Amaze)
- a 2 MP front-facing camera
- a pair of Beats earbuds
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread (HTC Rezound will definitely receive the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich update)
HTC Rezound Release Date
If all the leaks pointed towards a November 10th launch well, official word has it that the HTC Rezound release date at Verizon is scheduled for November 14th.
HTC Rezound Price Tag
So, starting with Nov 13th you’ll be able to get the HTC Rezound, from Verizon, for $299.99 (of course, with a two year contract with thwe carrier).
So what do you think about HTC Rezound? Does it have what it takes to go head to head with Samsung Galaxy Nexus or Motorola Droid RAZR? Drop us a line and stay tuned.
