Huawei’s Next Flagship: Fingerprint Sensor, Metal, Octa-Core Kirin 920, Expensive

by Mihai Matei on April 1, 2014

Most Chinese smartphone manufacturers are emphasizing greatly on creating affordable products. We’ve actually seen some pretty decent phones from China, boasting mind-blowingly low prices – such as the Xiaomi Red Rice series. Huawei is also among the companies that target the lower-budget market, while creating decently equipped smartphones, and the Honor 3C is a prime example of that.

But according to the latest developments, Huawei might actually have something big planned for us. An expensive and powerful smartphone boasting a premium build and all sorts of techy features. Interested in learning the details? Then keep on scrolling.

Huawei’s Next Flagship Phone – Expensive, “Stunning” Device

The image you see above has been recently (re)published by a software development engineer working for Huawei, and what we’re looking at is the alleged top-tier smartphone the Chinese manufacturer is currently working on. Supposedly, the device will be all metal, it will pack a fingerprint sensor on the back panel (as you can tell from the image above) and it will also make use of the Octa-core Kirin 920 processor that we’ve recently spotted in AnTuTu. It’s quite a powerful unit (between the Snapdragon 801 and 805), so if you’re interested in the benchmark scores, feel free to hit the link.

What makes this gadget even more interesting, at least in theory, is the fact that the source has specified that the gadget will be expensive, and that prospective customers should already start saving up money for the handset.

In the meantime, while this leak was gaining grip, Huawei’s Senior VP announced that the company is indeed working on a new flagship phone, which will offer “stunning” and “unique features”. We’re guessing that the VP was referring to the same handset described above by the software developer engineer.

This piece of news comes immediately after the Huawei Ascend P7 leak, so the next several months are shaping up to be quite interesting. Any thoughts? Feel free to share them below.
