Lenovo K920 (2K Display, SD 801, 3GB RAM) To Be Officially Unveiled On August 5th

by Mihai Matei on July 24, 2014

The mysterious Lenovo K920 keeps eluding us, despite the fact that the handset in question has been spotted in the wild numerous times before. Last time we talked about this device, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at what hardware specifications it promises. However, the clock is ticking away, and although we’re nearing the end of July, not much information concerning the K920 has surfaced during the past several weeks.

Fortunately though, Wang Yan – Lenovo’s Marketing General Manager – broke the silence earlier today, when he revealed that the mysterious Lenovo K920 should be officially announced in less than two weeks from now.

The teaser image we’ve embedded above comes straight from Wang Yan’s Weibo account who recently announced that the Lenovo K920 will become official on the 5th day of August. The image itself confirms the date, and shows part of the smartphone’s back panel.

Wang Yan hasn’t revealed much else regarding the device, but based on the information that leaked thus far we can assume that the Lenovo K920 – which might be called the “Vibe Z2 Pro” – will be powered by a Snapdragon MSM8974-AC quad-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and 3 GB of RAM. The device is expected to pack a generous 6-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, and it should sport 32 GB of storage. The handset makes use of a 16 MP main camera complemented by a 5 MP front-facing sensor, and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.

There’s no telling when or where the smartphone will hit the market first, or whether or not it will make it outside of China, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled so stay tuned for more.
