About a week ago, a leaked Lenovo roadmap gave us a clear picture on what smartphones might be coming out of Lenovo’s gates in the following months, and one of these gadgets listed in the aforementioned roadmap was the Lenovo Vibe X2.
More recently the smartphone in question was spotted in TEENA’s database where a handful of pictures with the device have also been published, but as is usually the case with pictures picked up from TEENA, these images were of very low quality. Still better than nothing, but definitely not as good as the leaked pictures you’re about to see below.
Lenovo Vibe X2 Resurfaces
The Lenovo Vibe X2 was recently leaked in several high quality photos (above and below), that once again reveal the fact that the smartphone features a metal body. The handset actually looks like three relatively thin slabs of metal with different colors that have been pieced together to form the smartphone’s body. It’s rather unique and the color gradient adds a pretty interesting flavor to the mix.
Also, if you look at the first pic, you’ll see what look like metal contacts, probably used for connecting an accessory, but that’s just speculation for the time being.
As for the smartphone’s specifications, the Lenovo Vibe X2 is said to arrive in two main variants, one known as the “X2-CU” which will allegedly be powered by a MediaTek MT6596M octa-core processor (four Cortex-A17 clocked at 2.0 GHz and four Cortex-A7 cores running at a frequency of 1.5 GHz). The second variant, known as the “X2-TO”, will supposedly feature a 2.2 GHz dual-core processor which will most likely bear Intel’s logo on it.
Aside from the SoC, the smartphone should sport a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, 2 GB of RAM alongside 16 GB of internal storage, and a 13 MP main camera complemented by a 5 MP front-facing sensor. It should run on Android 4.4.2 and it will be powered by a 2,250 mAh battery.
According to the aforementioned leaked roadmap, the Lenovo Vibe X2 should go on sale in the third week of September. Until then the smartphone is expected to make an appearance at IFA in Berlin, next to the recently leaked Huawei Ascend Mate 7.
