It didn’t take long for the first rumors on Marshmallow availability to emerge, following Google’s official announcement of the OS, and as you might already be aware, a couple of days ago we found out that Motorola might be one of the first smartphone makers to bring Android 6 to the masses, or should we say: to Moto X (2nd Gen) owners.
The good news is that Motorola isn’t the only OEM to hop on the Marshmallow bandwagon. HTC already confirmed its intentions to release the OS on its current flagships, and rumors from earlier this week also suggested that LG may have skipped the release of Android 5.1.1 on its top-tier lineup in order to focus its energy on rolling out Android 6 instead.
Speaking of LG, today we came across some data that LG G3 and LG G4 owners might find interesting. Specifically, it appears that the company’s support page in Korea has already been updated to accommodate information regarding the eventual release of Android 6 Marshmallow on the two aforementioned devices.
Keep scrolling for the details.
LG G3, G4: Marshmallow Imminent?
Despite the fact that LG hasn’t made any concrete announcements regarding the availability of Android 6 Marshmallow on its smartphone lineup, it looks like the firmware might be released on several G3 and G4 variants sooner rather than later. As you can tell from the screenshots, the LG Korea support page for the two aforementioned devices now contains a category for “Android 6”, along with previous OS versions.
Clicking on the “Android 6” category seems to redirect the user to an unrelated page so we admit this isn’t much, but it should at least indicate that the company is already working on making the update available to some of its customers.
So far it looks like the LG G3 F400S, F400K, and F400L, along with the LG G4 F500S, F500K, and F500L are the only smartphones queued up for Marshmallow. I’m afraid we had no luck with the LG G Flex 2 or the other LG G3 variants, but surely the update should expand its reaches as time goes by.
Stick around and we’ll keep you up to speed as soon as more details emerge.
