LG Optimus 4X HD Jelly Bean Update – What Will It Bring?
Back in February, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has been confirmed for the LG Optimus 4X HD as well as for the Optimus L7 and L9, but at that time the actual release dates were missing in action. One month and a half later, we found out that the LG Optimus L9 was the first of the three to make the jump to Jelly Bean.
Nevertheless, the Optimus L7 and the LG Optimus 4X HD don’t seem to be too far behind, as LG Germany has recently published some extra details regarding the update, as well as a pretty meaty changelog. More details below.
LG Optimus 4X HD Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
As reported very recently, the Optimus L7 is currently receiving its Android 4.1 update, and fortunately for Optimus 4X HD owners, the latter’s Jelly Bean software update has been reconfirmed.
Although LG Germany hasn’t really offered any details regarding availability, the blog post did contain an LG Optimus 4X HD Jelly Bean changelog, and here it is:
- Improved responsiveness
- An increase in performance and smoothness thanks to Project Butter
- Constant framerates thanks to the implementation of Vertical Sync
- Google Now
- Expandable alerts
- Actionable notifications
- Offline support for Dictate
- Android Beam 2.0
- Wi-Fi Protected Setup support
We should also mention that once the update goes live, it won’t be delivered over-the-air so you’ll have to rely on your USB cable and the LG Mobile Support Tool. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we find out more regarding availability, but don’t hesitate to try a manual install yourself. Feel free to drop us a line if you’ve managed to successfully update your device.
Thanks Android Authority for the heads-up regarding the LG Optimus 4X HD Jelly Bean update.
