LG Optimus G Pro – One Of The Most Promising Androids
Not long ago we had the chance to see the final design of the LG Optimus G Pro, thanks to a press render that got released in Korea. However, at that time, the gadget was still surrounded by a few question marks when it came down to the exact hardware specifications, but not anymore.
LG has recently shed more light on its upcoming flagship device, revealing extra details concerning release date, specs and price tag. Needless to say, the G Pro seems to be more impressive than we thought.
LG Optimus G Pro – Extra Details (Release Date, Specs, Price)
First things first, let’s talk about the hardware specs because I’m fairly sure that many of you are eager to find out what this particular gadget is capable of. As we’ve learned before, the G Pro will feature a full HD 1920 x 1080 5.5-inch display resulting in a pixel density of about
440 400 ppi. Beneath the screen, the Optimus G follow-up will boast 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage expandable via SDcard, a 13 MP camera on the back coupled with a 2 MP front-facing sensor, a beefy user-removable 3,140 mAh battery featuring wireless charging and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with LG’s latest user interface on top.
Pretty impressive, but we’ve saved the best for last, because apparently, the Optimus G Pro will be powered by the brand new Snapdragon 600 processor, which means that this particular gadget will blow everything out of the water in terms of performance. The Snapdragon 600 SoC is supposed to be more powerful than the Nvidia Tegra 4, let alone the chips in the current generation of smartphones such as the Tegra 3, the Snapdragon S4 Pro or the Exynos 4412.
Needless to say, at least in terms of performance, the Lg Optimus G Pro seems to be a threat to the HTC One, so this will definitely be an interesting battle.
Availability and price-wise, the upcoming LG gadget has already hit the Korean market at the price of 968,000 won which translates to roughly $900, although that’s not necessarily going to be the device’s price-tag once it goes on sale in the US. LG also claims that the Pro should hit the shelves in the States within the second quarter of the year. Until then, the handset will make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress, so stay tuned and we’ll keep you up to date with all the juicy details.
Thanks Android Central for the heads-up regarding the LG Optimus G Pro release date and specs.
