LG Optimus G2 Not Quite Ready For Primetime Yet
Before CES went live there has been a lot of talk regarding which manufacturer will be present at the event, as well as what new gadgets we might have the chance to see in their full glory. Needless to say, CES hasn’t been a disappointment (EDITOR: it depends on you expectations before the event) and we’ve learned a lot about what we can expect from the mobile market in the next few months, such as a new Tegra 4 CPU, an octa-core Exynos chip and two Snapdragon SoC powerhouses.
Nonetheless, before the event there have been rumors and speculations that the LG Optimus G2 could be present at CES as well. That hasn’t been the case and we’ve now received word regarding the handset’s alleged launch. More details below.
LG Optimus G2 Release Date
The LG Optimus G has been launched only a few months ago but because a new display standard for high-end gadgets has been established shortly after the handset’s release, many believed that a 5-inch 1080p Optimus G2 will be unveiled during CES.
That’s not how the situation has developed and in fact, according to the latest, the LG Optimus G2 will not go on sale earlier than fall 2013. In addition to that, reports indicate that LG will wait for Google to launch the upcoming Android iteration, Key Lime Pie, in order to launch the Optimus G2 with the respective OS out of the box.
It all makes a bit of sense, but you never know until more information regarding the matter surfaces so, take all this with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more. We’ll continue to keep an eye on LG and see how the story develops.
