LG Viper at Sprint: A Brief Look – Release Date: Coming Soon

by Catalin on January 22, 2012

Unlike its competitors, I feel that Sprint has been rather quiet this time around at CES. But if we look back, it was mostly the same deal last year as well. However, there was a device which attracted my attention and that’s the LG Viper. The device got a quick hands-on video done by the fine folks over at Android Central and we’ve gotten the chance to see some of the important features and specifications of the LG Viper. Now let’s not prolong this far too much and let’s get down with a brief look at the LG Viper on Sprint.

LG Viper

LG’s Viper is coming in with a 4 inch Nova display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, which doesn’t seem that much seeing as most manufacturers are opting already for qHD displays or HD displays. However, the Nova screens have impressed me so far. You could see one on the LG Optimus Black if I’m not mistaken.

In terms of power, we only know that the LG Viper at Sprint will be coming with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor powering it along and it will be running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, yet a pretty Vanilla version as far as we’ve seen.

That can only make my nerd senses tingle a little, since I’m quite tired of seeing bloat-ware filled UIs destroying such a fine experience.

The LG Viper is amongst the first 4G LTE devices with Sprint, so if you were looking to pick one of those up, this is your best chance to do so.

LG Viper Release Date at Sprint

For the time being we don’t have a release date for the LG Viper, but the manufacturer said at CES that the device is coming soon. That could very well be Q2 so don’t hold your breath until then.

One of the things which really stood out was the overall design of the device as the brushed metal back looks simply brilliant, but the question is still raised – is this device powerful enough to make a splash? We’ll see, so make sure to stay tuned for more!

Thanks Android Central for sharing their LG Viper Hands-On.
