Motorola Droid 4
Despite the fact that it hasn’t been yet officially announced, everybody should be familiar by now with the Motorola Droid 4. Basically, this smartphone is the QWERTY slider version of the highly acclaimed Motorola Droid RAZR and, knowing that, it’s easy to see why those of us that prefer a hardware keyboard over a software one are so hyped about this device (for a full description check out Motorola Droid 4 Overview). And even tough we expected the device to be released sooner than everyone thought, it seems that the Droid 4 will stay a bit more under wraps. Stay with us for more details.

Motorola Droid 4 Release Date
According to rumors and leaks, the Motorola Droid 4 should have been released this December (December 8th, December 22nd) and even tough the signs were there (DroidDoes, FCC) recent rumors regarding a push-back turned out to be true after all. I know many of you will be disappointed with this but Motorola and Verizon have done the right thing. If the Motorola Droid 4 would have been released as scheduled (we have little doubt that Verizon initially planned for a December launch) things would have been really complicated.
Let us not forget that the Motorola Droid 4 would have competed with such heavyweights as Motorola Droid RAZR, HTC Rezound and Samsung Galaxy Nexus, smartphones that are turning a lot of heads these days. Not to mention the fact that Droid 3 (with all its flaws) has been released not more than a few months ago. So it probably is a better move for the Motorola Droid 4 to make its debut a bit later, to let things cool down.
OK, ok. But when ? According to the latest leak, the Motorola Droid 4 release date is scheduled for February 2nd.
Motorola Droid 4 Release Date Pushed Back to February ?
It might come as a disappointment, but this could be for the best, at least when taking the current situation into account. I know that the Motorola Droid 4 push back is very long and the wait will be even longer, but maybe Moto will bring Ice Cream Sandwich with its release or maybe even add some changes to the hardware (I wish!).
