I know all of you QWERTY slider lovers have been anxiously waiting for Verizon’s Motorola Droid 4. And boy … you’ve waited a whole lot but it looks like Droid 4 will be worth it (check out our Motorola Droid 4 Overview for a quick look at the specs or check this comparison against the Samsung Captivate Glide).
Motorola Droid 4 Release Date at Verizon
At first we thought that the Motorola Droid 4 release date was scheduled for December (first December 8th and then December 22nd) and by all accounts Verizon thought that too. I mean you don’t see a smartphone that’s still a couple of months away from launch popping up everywhere like the Droid 4 did.
Then we’ve heard of a February 2nd Motorola Droid 4 release date and this seemed spot on as we saw Droid 3 reaching End of Life and getting a really serious price-cut (really, it’s almost a steal). We’ve also got our hands on the Motorola Droid 4 manual and we were awaiting for Feb 2nd but guess what ? We heard that the Motorola Droid 4 release date has been pushed back to February 9th.
However, 9th was not meant to be after all. Verizon’s Motorola Droid 4 equipment guide has recently surfaced and it seems like February 10th is D-Day. Coincidence or not (most probably not) this Friday marks Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 3D’s debut in theaters and what better way to celebrate this than with the launch of a new Droid ?
Check out Verizon’s equipment guide leak that indicates February 10th as the Motorola Droid 4 release date (“All Channel Launch”).
Motorola Droid 4 Price
Even tough at first we thought the this upcoming Droid will set us back $250 (on a two year contract with Verizon), latest evidence points to the fact that the Motorola Droid 4 price tag will be $200.
This is definitely good news and let’s hope that all will go smoothly and we won’t see a(nother) change as far as the Motorola Droid 4 release date goes. Especially since we’re only a few days away from what looks like the final launch date.
What do you guys think about the Motorola Droid 4 release date getting so close ? How much would you pay for it ?
Many thanks to Droid Life for bringing us the news about the Motorola Droid 4 release date.
