The Android 4 ICS update for the Droid Bionic was initially “in evaluation”, but after much debate, we finally found out the general time frame in which we could expect it to come out. Some nice custom ROMs came out for those who were brave enough to risk bricking their devices and with a little bit of knowledge of the platform.

Motorola’s Android 4 ICS road-map placed the Droid Bionic as due for an update in the 3rd quarter of this year. Although everyone couldn’t wait to get their hands on the latest Android had to offer, there was still quite a long way ahead of us.

Cheesecake was again the place where we found the first few leaks regarding the progress being made towards bringing Android 4 ICS to the Droid Bionic. Despite closing in, we still had no idea when we could expect the update to hit. Cheesecake was again the one to bring us news of the update marked as 6.7.2231, with a few hours later build number 6.7.2233 coming up on the radar.

Now the latest leaked Motorola Droid Bionic Ice Cream Sandwich build shows that almost nothing major was changed in the build itself, meaning that the update is most probably getting closer to launch. We just started Q3, but it would not be too surprising to see Motorola go ahead and launch this one!

Thanks Droid Life for letting us know the latest on the Motorola Droid Bionic Ice Cream Sandwich front.
