Just a few of days ago we’ve reported that, after a successful soak-test, Verizon has begun rolling out the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD and MAXX HD Jelly Bean update to its customers. However, the update was deployed to a small number of RAZR HD and MAXX HD units out there, so not many owners of these particular devices have actually received the update notification. But worry not, because we have some pretty good news for you.
Motorola Droid RAZR HD, RAZR MAXX HD Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
Android 4.1 for the aforementioned gadget has recently expanded its reach, and in case you happen to own the latest Motorola flagship phone from Verizon, you may have an update waiting for you if you hit that “Check now” button.
The update itself is about 276 MB in size and brings a lot of goodies to the table, including Google Now, Project Butter under the hood, an enhanced keyboard and improved notifications. In addition to those extra features, you’ll also benefit from improved voice and data connectivity and Back Up Assistant.
Last but not least, the Color and Verizon Video applications have been removed, but on the bright side, a new suite of Amazon apps have been added to fill that gap.
In any case, the update continues to expand, and if for some reason you still haven’t received your fair share of Android 4.1, sit tight and your patience should be rewarded soon. Feel free to drop us a line once you make the jump to Jelly Bean and stay tuned.
Thanks Droid Life for the heads-up regarding the Motorola Droid RAZR HD, RAZR MAXX HD Jelly Bean update.
