Contrary to the early rumors indicating that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX will be rolled-out in a timely manner, mid-May was the first time when the manufacturer gave us a timeframe in which we can expect Android 4 to hit the waves, other than the good old “coming soon” announcement obviously.
Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4 ICS)
Shortly after Motorola confirmed that the Droid RAZR will get its fair share of Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of Q2, a leaked Android 4 version indicated that the official update should bring global roaming along with it, a feature which will definitely be well received by many RAZR owners.
As we’ve made our first steps into the last month of Q2, the manufacturer also released a few videos depicting the ICS update on the Droid RAZR, alongside the new WebTop 3.0 interface. On short, it was quite a pleasant surprise to see that we’re going to get a more vanilla ICS experience once the update hits the waves.
A few days ago, a very interesting rumor has surfaced regarding the Motorola Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich release date is scheduled really soon.
To summarize things up, the waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich update has been rather painful and filled with uncertainties but, fret not, we’re only a few weeks away from making our first steps into Q3 and that means Android 4 on the Droid RAZR is getting more and more closer to us (who knows? maybe the rumor we talked about earlier will even turn out to be the real deal). Besides, the waiting can be easily forgotten if the update will come packed with cool features like global roaming capabilities.
All that remains now is for us to wait and hope the update will hit the waves sooner rather than later. We’ll keep you up to date as soon as the story develops.
