Very recently, the unannounced HTC One A9 made it back in the headlines thanks to a render (@evleaks) showcasing the terminal in multiple colors. Today we circle back to the same device, as a new live image showcasing the handset and its alleged hardware specifications has emerged from sources in China.
On short, the HTC One A9, as seen in the new leaked image, is very similar to the terminal depicted in the aforementioned renders – at least from the front.
Furthermore, the alleged hardware specifications are on par with the data leaked so far, so this might very well be the real deal.

New HTC One A9 Live Image Surfaces
There you have it, ladies and gents: the alleged One A9 in China, which seems to have been captured on camera on the 16th of September. Judging by the front panel, the terminal flaunts the same iPhone-esque overall design as seen in earlier renders, while moving both the volume rocker and the power button on the right-hand edge.
The image also seems to give us a glimpse at the specifications, revealing a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage. It also appears to make use of a Snapdragon 617 SoC, which was introduced earlier this month. The chipset supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, it features eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1.5 GHz per core, an Adreno 405 graphics chip, and supports LPDDR3 @ 933 MHz RAM.
Interestingly enough, “Sony” is also mentioned in the spec list so it might be that the unit has a Sony sensor on the back panel. However, we cannot confirm the validity of the leak so treat the information accordingly.
HTC will hold an unveiling event next week on the 29th of the month, where two new smartphones seem to be planned to hit the stage. There’s a possibility that the HTC One A9 will be one of them, but this has yet to be confirmed.
We’ll keep you posted if we find out more.
