New iPhone 5 and iPad 2 Specs Leaked – Apple Bringing the Pain ?

by bogdan on January 22, 2011

New rumors have surfaced regarding the future products offered by Apple.  Of course, we’re talking about some new rumored iPhone 5 and iPad 2 specs, what else?

First off, let’s start with the iPhone 5 specs that have been leaked. The iPhone 5 could be featuring a A5 multi-core processor which is based on the Cortex A9 although other sources say that the phone could very well sport an A8 processor which will have a single core. At the moment we can’t be sure which processor is likely to be used, as further details are sketchy at best.

The iPhone 5 will also be bringing the iOS 4.3, the PowerVR SGX543 from Imagination Technologies and also a Qualcomm chip that will take care of GSM, UMTS and CDMA networks. No info was found about the LTE at the moment.

We also have some new rumored iPad 2 specs, not much, as you already know about the piece of news regarding the 2048 x 1532 (double resolution) for the iPad 2. The real info comes from the fact that the tablet will be hosting a SD card slot and will be sharing the dual-mode connectivity found on the iPhone 5. Do you know about the two cameras and 10-inch size ? What about the rumored dual core processor ? Good.

As for the iPad 2 release date, the device will most likely be launched in April with a price tag ranging from $599.99 and $699.99.

What do you guys think about these iPhone 5 and iPad 2 specs ? My personal opinion regarding the iPhone 5 is that even if the phone should come with a single core processor, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be slower than the competition but I really hope to be seeing the A5 being implemented.

As for the iPad 2, apart from the new pieces of info, the rest of the specs don’t bring anything new from the rest of the crowd, but as we’ve all seen time and time again, it’s the little things that count.

Kudos to Endgadget for offering us the news about the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 specs.
