Meet The New, Redesigned Motorola Droid Bionic

by Anamaria on June 13, 2011

As most of you know, Motorola said a while ago that the company is currently implementing the feedback received at CES 2011 into the Motorola Droid Bionic. However, last week we caught wind of a really big change in the Motorola Droid Bionic specs – a new processor instead of Tegra 2 ? this looks like a overhaul to me and not some fine-tuning like we were lead to believe ( if the rumor turns out true ).

However, we can be sure that Motorola has also worked a bit on changing the smartphone’s looks as it’s evident when looking at some recently leaked pics. And apart from the aesthetic changes we also have some news concerning some of the new Motorola Droid bionic specs.

I know that all these mysteries and changes might bother some of you, but hey, at least we’re getting the Motorola Droid Bionic, despite some discouraging rumors that were getting abroad a while ago.

Since the handset’s looks are no longer a mystery, thanks to the leaked photos ( gallery towards the end of the article ), let’s have a deeper look into the specs.

First, you can see below how the Motorola Droid Bionic looks like next to the Motorola Defy:

The pictures also show the biggest visible change, i.e. the 4.5 inch qHD display, which will probably make its competitors feel a bit undersized. More than that, along with 1080p HD video playing, your eyes will be absolutely astonished when watching a movie.

The battery has also suffered some changes, being able to store only 1750 mAh of electrical energy. The device will also have a new home screen and a new lock screen, and last, but not least, when you’ll be getting your hands on the Motorola Droid Bionic, it will run on Android 2.3.4 ( at least ), which is a great thing for an upcoming device.

Sadly, we don’t know yet an official Motorola Droid Bionic release date, or what price tag we can expect, but we will come back with news as soon as we’ll have them. However, if we are to trust the rumors, the Motorola Droid Bionic release date is scheduled for sometime during Q3.
