Well, it seems that the previous rumor regarding the iPad 2 release date might have a dash of truth in it after all. If you remember ( if not feel free to check out our previous article ), in December, Digitimes ( a Taiwanese newspaper ) has participated in spreading the rumor according to which the iPad 2 release date will come sometime in February 2011, citing a source inside Foxconn ( the Taiwan based iPad, iPod and iPhoe manufacturer ).
Well, this might indeed be true as Kevin Rose ( the founder of Digg ) has recently stated something very similar…read on after the break to find out what Kevin had to say regarding the iPad 2 release date.

Rumor: The iPad 2 Release Date To Be Announced This Month ?
First of all you might ask yourself: who is this Kevin Rose ? Well, he is the co-founder of quite a number of social websites and services, the most important being Digg. For more info on the man feel free to wiki him.
Anyway, Kevin isn’t anything if not a man with extensive connections in the IT world so when he says that he has it on good authority that Apple will announce the iPad 2 release date in the next “3-4 weeks, possibly Tuesday February 1st“, I’m inclined to believe he knows what he’s saying.
If you’ve been following our articles regarding the rumored iPad 2 specs then you know that the iPad’s successor is likely to have two cameras ( front and back ) and a “Retina” display. Well Kevin confirms that the same source has told him the front and back cameras are definitely real but that the “Retina” display will not technically be “Retina”. Rumor is that iPad 2’s display has a “higher dpi” without being based on the technology first used in the iPhone 4. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Oh, nearly forgot…remember the rumored dual-core powered iPad 2 ? Kevin doesn’t mention it but we hope it’s still in the books.
