Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch ? That’s A Long A$$ Name – USA Release Date: September (Rumored)

In #news by Alin2 Comments

This name game has been going on with the US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S2 for a while, without anything certain at all. This huge delay in the USA is very frustrating, and I think anyone would agree with me. But this overall secrecy from carriers and Samsung might have something to do with the famous lawsuit Apple and Samsung are going through. The Korean manufacturer is probably taking every measure possible to prevent another legal battle over their flagship phone, and Apple doesn’t slow down either. Lucky for us, some anonymous superhero is always somewhere in the middle of the action, giving us bits of information we like to call leaks, so every time official sources are mum we know what is going on inside.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch ? That’s A Long A$$ Name

If you may recall, a few days ago we talked about Sprint launching the Samsung Galaxy S2 as the Samsung Epic Touch 4G. Now we have a leaked picture  that reveals the name is actually Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. Pretty much the same, but spelling it out does require a lot more of your lung capacity than previous monikers.

Verizon’s naming scheme is also complicated, as it seems to have been changed to Samsung Fascinate 2 from “Stratosphere”.

Back to Sprint and their branded GS2, we all know that the original model is a candybar touchscreen-only device, so adding the “Touch” at the end of the name makes me wonder if Sprint is planning on releasing a Samsung Epic QWERTY phone similar to what At&t is rumored to launch.

And another odd thing in the picture is that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch is presented in two opposite tones. Maybe Sprint is planning on a white version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 ? This is just me speculating, so don’t take it for granted. Regarding the other two phones, the HTC Evo Design 4G is better known as the HTC Kingdom, but we have no idea what the Motorola Admiral looks like ( notice the lack of “4G” in the name ). Let’s hope this official looking photo means the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch is on its way to a Sprint store near you ( word on the street is that the Samsung Galaxy S2 release date at Sprint is scheduled for sometime in September )

Thank you goes to Engadget for the latest info on Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S2 variant.
