In case you have been following us for some time then you should be aware of the fact that the manufacturer has announced quite some time ago that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 release date is scheduled for June 8th, that it had been redesigned and all that stuff. Now, after some everything has become reconfirmed but with a slight change. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 release date is indeed scheduled for June 8th, however, at that date, the tablet will only be available in New York City. The rest of the United States will be able to purchase the Galaxy Tab 10.1 at a later date – June 17th to be precise.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 To Be Available At First Only In New York City - Release Date: June 8th
So what’s the deal with this two Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 release dates thingy? Apparently the Best Buy located in Union Square New York City will have a bit of an exclusivity on selling the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1, starting ( you’ve guessed it ) on June 8th and lasting throughout June 17 when this highly anticipated tablet will be available for the rest of the nation.
Now that we’ve talked availability, let’s talk specs and price.
Spec-wise the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is obviously the holder of a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The life-force of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be drawn from a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra CPU. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also feature an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and video recording capabilities of 1080p HD.
In terms of OS there’s no mystery that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will run on Android 3.1 Honeycomb. However, looks like the TouchWiz UI will not yet be available at launch. More details regarding that matter a bit later. Stay tuned.

Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 sounds great, I guess nothing can be perfect and as every tablet has its flaws, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes with one as well. Apparently he WiFi version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 does not have a microSD slot. Some of you might find this a big inconvenient, some won’t.
Now that we’ve talked few of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 specs, let’s talk price. The 16 GB version will be sold at the price of $499 whilst the 32 GB big-brother will have a price tag of $599.
Bottom line, if you’ll be somewhere near Union Square New York City during the June 8th – 17th time-frame then you should pay the Best Buy over there a visit. If you’re anxiously waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and you’d like to own one then why waste time? Also, you should probably pay Best Buy a visit even if you’re not yet decided on buying the tablet. After all you will have the chance to hold the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in your hands before the rest of the nation.
Also it has been recently announced that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 release date at Verizon is…yep taht’s right – June 8th. Sprint will also offer the tablet but the release date has not yet been announced.
Thanks AndroidCentral for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 release date.
