Once again, we have some interesting news for our Canadian friends, regarding the Xperia Play from Sony Ericsson, as Rogers is throwing 10 Xperia Play units in a contest held on Facebook. And although the opportunity of winning an Xperia Play is welcomed the real interesting fact is that, with this occasion, we’ve received a hint regarding the Xperia Play price tag.
According to the Facebook page on which the contest can be found, the Xperia Play price is $400. This figure is surely up for debate, as some voices would say that this Xperia Play price tag implies some sort of contract with the carrier. Honestly I don’t think that the off-contract Xperia Play would be less than $500.

Those that disagree with this Xperia Play price would state the fact that prices are a bit higher in Canada and this is exactly the case with the Xperia Play. Whatever the right reason might be, this is the only piece of info we actually have at the moment concerning the Xperia Play price tag so we will have to go with that as Rogers has yet to step up and attach a price tag to the smartphone.
That being said, we still don’t know anything about the Xperia Play release date and it looks like Rogers will keep us in the dark a bit more. Other than the fact that it will happen “this Spring”, nothing new on the horizon.
