Back in November, we talked about the Symbian Belle update for a lot of Nokia devices. The update rolled out just a couple of months ago, but despite that, Nokia still had some tricks up their sleeves. The Finish company prepared the launch of a Feature Pack, bringing a ton of improvements to some devices.
Nokia 701, 700, 603 Symbian Belle FP1 (Feature Pack 1)
The Nokia Symbian Belle FP1 (Feature Pack 1) is aimed at devices that shipped with Belle running from the start. We initially heard that the biggest boost in performance would land for the Nokia 700 and the Nokia 701. There were many other features but we will get to that in just a second.
At first, we thought that only the Nokia 700 and the Nokia 701 would receive a small overclock from 1 GHz to 1.3 GHz, however, the Nokia 603 also got the speed bump. This meant overall better performing devices all round.
Some other changes included the addition of 20 widgets along with improvements to the browser’s support for HTML5. The company also pushes Nokia Maps along with Microsoft Apps.
The sound quality will see a major improvement as well with the Nokia Symbian Belle Feature Pack 1. The extended Dolby support is introduced as well, which helps with handling Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus audio.
The tons of features and improvements will definitely improve overall performance to the Nokia 603, 700 and 701 and I cannot wait to see how well it works out. The roll out for the update began recently in Asia and the update will follow a global trail in the coming weeks.
After getting a “coming soon” from Nokia, it seems that the Finish company delivered on their end. Let us know if your Nokia 603, 700 or 701 get the taste of the Belle Feature Pack 1.
