When Nokia has announced the Nokia Lumia 800 it specifically pointed out that it will first be released in Europe (hell, we don’t even know if it will ever arrive in the United States). However, when the Nokia Lumia 900 has been unveiled at CES, things have taken a really unexpected turn. Nokia has only mentioned AT&T’s Lumia 900 and kept mum regarding releasing the device in other markets. Knowing that the Lumia 800 was a sell-out in UK everybody wondered when will Nokia Lumi 900 drop on the other side of the ocean. Well, we have some news about it. At first we thought there were good but now we don’t know anymore.
Nokia Lumia 900 UK Release Date
At some point during the last week, Carphone Warehouse just started the pre-ordering for Nokia Lumia 900, and they announced that the device will be available in June 2012 for the UK market. We thought that this will put an end to any speculation (or rumour) there may have been surrounding the Nokia Lumia 900 release date for Europe. Buuuut, then something happened. The retailer retired the web-page and any mention of the Nokia Lumia 900 from its website.
Now this makes us wonder. Will the Nokia 900 ever reach the mainland ? The guys at Carphone Warehouse surely thought so but why retire you pre-order page and not mention anything about it? Well, some would say that Nokia’s plans regarding Lumia 900’s release in Europe have changed but we’d like to think that someone at the retailer’s website pushed the “Publish” button to early. I guess time will tell.
Nokia Lumia 900
Nokia Lumia 900 looks to be Nokia’s flagship in the smartphone battle. The device will feature a 4,3 inch WXVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours and a 480 x 800 pixels resolution. Nokia Lumia 900 uses a single core 1.4 GHz processor, Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon and Adreno 205 as a GPU.
The smartphone also has two cameras: a rear facing camera with 8 Mpx, 3264×2448 pixels resolution , with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and dual-LED flash, and a front facing camera has only 1,3 Mpx. Nokia Lumia 900 has 16 Gb built-in storage space, but no card slot option.
Nokia’s latest will draw its juice from a 1830 mAh Li-Ion battery that enables up to 300 h of stand-by and up to 7 h of talk time.
In comparison with the AT&T version, the European version of Nokia Lumia 900 (if it will get released) will not have the LTE support, but we’re guessing that the rest of the specs will be the same.
Stay tuned as we’ll keep you posted with the latest news about Nokia Lumia 900 pricing and availability in Europe.
Many thanks to our friends from WMPoweruser for letting us know about the rumored Nokia Lumia 900 release date in UK.
