Nvidia Tegra 4 Dissed By Qualcomm Rep
Some of you might buy your smartphones depending on the brand or the ecosystem, others might decide on which gadget to buy by how pretty they are, but if the main deciding factor is sheer performance and processing power then you might already know what you can expect. There’s the Snapdragon 600 and 800 series, the Exynos 5 octa-core CPU from Samsung and there’s also the Nvidia Tegra 4.
Now, we’re not sure which one of these CPUs delivers the best performance since they haven’t actually been launched on the market just yet, but according to Qualcomm’s Chief Marketing Officer, the Tegra 4 doesn’t stand a chance.
Nvidia Tegra 4 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 / 800
Qualcomm’s CMO has recently given an interview in which he claims that the Tegra 4 is no competition for the company’s upcoming processors. As he puts it, the Snapdragon S4 Pro outperforms the Tegra 3 by quite a lot, and we shouldn’t expect any less from the Snapdragon 600 series, or even more so from the Snapdragon 800.
Now, we might say that these statements are just thrown out there as a way for Qualcomm to bash the competition, but as we’ve previously reported, Nvidia does seem to have difficulties convincing the OEMs to use its latest Tegra 4 CPU in future-to-be launched gadgets, so there’s most likely a bit of truth in what Qualcomm’s CMO has declared during his interview.
Whether or not the Tegra 4 will be the weakest link of year 2013 remains to be seen, but we’ll definitely keep an eye on how the story will develop in the future so stay tuned for more. Any thoughts regarding the matter? Feel free to drop us a line in the comment section below.
