When you think about Korean smartphone manufacturers, the first ones that pop in your mind are probably “Samsung” and “LG”. However, these two giants are not the only Korean companies that produce smartphones. Pantech has also made its presence noticed in the western markets, however, unlike Samsung and LG, Pantech is currently facing some serious financial issues.
Nonetheless, the manufacturer keeps on trucking and the next big thing expected to be released by Pantech appears to be the “Vega Note”. Could this smartphone save the company?
Pantech Vega Note Surfaces in Leaked Shots
The Pantech Vega Note is not yet official, but a couple of pictures depicting the device have now leaked out on the blogosphere, giving us a better idea on what we can expect.
What we can take from these images (above and below) is that the Vega Note features a fingerprint scanner on the back panel, and that it houses a stylus pen in its case. As its name suggests, this particular gadget seems to be a direct competitor to Samsung’s own Galaxy Note 3, especially given its specs.
Rumors have suggested that the device will feature a 5.9 inch display, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, LTE capabilities and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, so the Vega Note is no dud.
The Pantech Vega Note is expected to be unveiled tomorrow, October 10, at which time we expect to learn more about its hardware specs, availability and pricing.
Until then, feel free to share your thoughts below in regards to what these two photos have revealed. If all these rumors and leaks turn out to be accurate, do you think the Vega Note might stand a chance against the Galaxy Note 3? Evidently, the price will play a big role, and since the Samsung phablet is quite pricey, this might offer Pantech an opportunity to get itself back on track. We’ll see.
