CES and MWC have given us a great opportunity to take a sneak peek at what the mobile market has in store for us, specifically in regards to the top-range segment. Up until now, the majority of manufacturers have either announced or released their latest flagships, but we feel like LG is somewhat missing from this picture. Yes, the Korean tech giant has lifted the veil on the G Pro 2 earlier this year, but this particular handset was meant as a placeholder for the LG G3, so all our focus is now targeted towards the said device.
Sadly, we’re still some months away from the alleged launch of the LG G3, but on the bright side, the latest reports suggest that the next LG flagship will go on sale a bit earlier than initially anticipated. Check back after the break for more.
LG G3 Release Date Scheduled for Early July
The Korean media is now buzzing with fresh reports concerning the LG G3 release date, and according to this fresh data, the next best thing from LG will be unveiled in late June, and released in early July. Initially, the G3 was intended for an August release, but according to sources, LG has decided to bring the launch of the smartphone closer in order to try and remain relevant in this competitive market.
As far as specifications go, the source reiterates that the G3 is expected to pack a 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a Snapdragon 801 or 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a main camera featuring hardware OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The handset is currently known under the code name “LG-LS990”.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out, and we’ll bring you up to speed as soon as we learn more.
