In case you’re an Android enthusiast and on top of that, you’ve always enjoyed owning a Google smartphone -most probably for the sake of timely updates-, then you may have also wanted to own a Google tablet. Fortunately the Nexus 7 arrived on the market this year but, although it offers a great set of specs for its price-tag, the 7-incher is not really a high-end gadget.
Well, in case you’d like to own a top-of-the-range Google tablet then you’ll be happy to find out that recent rumors indicate that the company in Mountain View is working on one. More details below.
Google / Galaxy Nexus 10 Tablet
The latest reports indicate that both Google and Samsung have once again teamed-up in order to create a beefed-up Nexus 10 tablet, which will allegedly aim pretty high, as it will fill the gap in the high-end market segment.
Supposedly the 10.1 inch Nexus tablet will sport an unprecedented high-res display of 2560 x 1600 featuring a pixel density of 299 ppi, surpassing the screen featured on the new iPad by quite a lot.
Not many other specs have been revealed so far, but if the rumors are true we find it interesting how Apple has decided to enter the more affordable 7(ish) inch tablet market segment with its iPad Mini, whereas Google might want to deliver a 10.1 inch nemesis.
The rumors are not stopping here however because, as it turns out, in parallel with the preparations for this Samsung Galaxy Nexus 10 behemoth, Google might also launch an even more affordable Nexus 7 version in December, which reports claim, it will be priced at $99.
But to be more precise, we’re not sure if this will actually be a new model, or if the price for the existing tablet will actually drop since a new 32 GB variant seems to be right around the corner.
Whichever the case, we’ll keep you up to speed so stay tuned. In the meantime, feel free to drop us a line and let us know if a Nexus 10 incher would be right up your alley.
Thanks Droid Life for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 10 tablet.
