How Does Samsung Galaxy Note Handle Ice Cream Sandwich ? Check It Out (Android 4 ICS)

by Mihai Matei on May 16, 2012

A few days ago we’ve reported that the international Samsung Galaxy Note has finally got its Ice Cream Sandwich update, mainly in Germany where the Android 4 went live via Kies. Unfortunately, it will take some time before the Ice Cream Sandwich update will reach all the international Samsung Galaxy Notes out there, so if you own one, chances are you haven’t received the notification just yet.

Fortunately there’s an alternative solution, as the Android 4 update for the international version (model number GT-N7000) has been made available for download on XDA-Developers forums. Join us after the break for more, when we’ll also take a look at a video with the Galaxy Note running ICS in the main role.

Overall, the update brings lots of improvements and new stuff (check out a cool Premium Suite Preview), such as advanced power saving settings for those who feel that the battery is draining a bit too fast, some cool SPen settings and features, ICS multitasking and more. Let’s take a look at the video below, courtesy of PocketNow.

Looks pretty good, so if you’ve enjoyed what the update has to offer head down to the XDA forums and read the instructions on how to update your Galaxy Note. Once more, keep in mind that this build will not work on the AT&T variant (model number SGH-i717) so don’t even try, but if you want to take a look at Android 4 on an AT&T Galaxy Note, check out our article with the Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich Update at CTIA, and you’ll find a neat video.

That’s pretty much it folks, we’ll keep an eye on the AT&T Galaxy Note and we hope that the Android 4 update will be made available on the carrier version soon enough. Until next time, feel free to drop us a line and let us know how your update process went on the International variant.

Thanks PocketNow for sharing the Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich video with us.
