The Ice Cream Sandwich update for the international Samsung Galaxy Note has rolled out for quite some time now, but as mentioned on numerous occasions, in case you have another variation of the Note and haven’t received Android 4 yet, you were better off with Gingerbread, since the international ICS roll-out caused major issues to some users.

However, lately, Samsung appears to roll-out the highly-anticipated ICS update on a very wide range of handsets, including the Android 4.0.4 on the unlocked Russian Samsung Galaxy S2, the AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and the Samsung Galaxy S2 at the same carrier. Sprint’s S2 Epic 4G Touch has also just received ICS and now, according to a press-release from Samsung, the Galaxy Note in Canada is due to get the Ice Cream Sandwich update sooner than expected.

Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich: To Go Live In Canada Really Soon (Android 4 ICS)
According to Samsung, the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Canadian Samsung Galaxy Note should hit the waves any moment now, starting with July 13th. Despite all that, as great as it sounds, the manufacturer also mentioned that as far as the update’s availability from Canadian carriers go, owners of the Note should contact their local carrier for more details.
To be more precise, Samsung has not confirmed 100% that Android 4.0 will hit the waves this weekend. Instead, they pretty much confirmed that ICS for the Note might be rolled out as of today, depending on each carrier.
That being said, we’re once again left with the “early July” timeslot given by Rogers, and the rumored July 16 launch day at Bell (reports are claiming that it’s live as of now). However, the launch date given by Samsung is right on the spot with the July 13 roll-out date given by Telus in mid-June.
We sure hope that things will go underway sooner rather than later, and perhaps the Canadian carriers will now be able to pick up the pace and roll-out the highy-anticipated update within the following days, or at least sometime next week.
We’re keeping an eye out on the Canadian Samsung Galaxy Note, so stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
