The first reports concerning the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich availability on the international Samsung Galaxy Note surfaced back in May, but as much as pleased we were to learn that the ICS was finally hitting the waves, we were even more disappointed by the outcome of updating the Note to the latest ICS build.
Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4 ICS)
People residing in different regions have reported tons of issues with the Note once they have updated their handset, including a drop in both battery life and performance, applications that were not starting properly, camera issues, overheating problems and bugs regarding Bluetooth connectivity, just to name a few.
Fortunately, Samsung has finally acknowledged that the Android 4 update is not working as intended and they have taken measures.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich Update Causes Even More Problems (Android 4 ICS)
It appears that amongst the sea of people complaining about the Android 4 update on the Galaxy Note, the French are the most vocal. Reports from France indicate that the update causes constant crashes of the device, but what’s even worse is that it can brick the phone.
Samsung announced that they are aware of the issue and that they are working on a fix. At the same time they have halted the distribution of the Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4 ICS OTA update, in order to prevent further devices from being affected. I don’t know if I ever said this, but whoever didn’t received the update is amongst the lucky ones, and I can’t believe I’m saying this.
The manufacturer also advises users who are experiencing issues with their updated Notes to contact technical support, hopefully in order to find a temporary workaround.
As for the other countries, it appears that Samsung has not said anything, but we know that they know, and we hope that if they address the issue with the Note in France, other owners outside of France experiencing issues with ICS will get a hot-fix as well.
Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich in the US
As mentioned before, the ICS update for the Galaxy Note in the US is still nowhere near its launch. The reason is pretty much obvious. Samsung does not wish to roll-out the update in other regions as long as these severe bugs are not dealt with. As for when exactly will this entire fiasco be sorted out remains to be seen.
Thanks PocketNow for the heads-up regarding the update on the Samsung Galaxy Note Ice Cream Sandwich.
