Samsung Galaxy Note – Phone or Tablet ? Both ? Release Date: Nov 1st

by Catalin Mengheris on October 30, 2011

So you want a tablet, but you don’t want to lumber around with a 10+ inch device which weighs in at roughly 25oz. At the same time you also want a smartphone. If only there was a company which would be considerate enough to combine the two into a portable format, yet with enough screen real-estate to give you the impression of a tablet (Dell Streak, a solid device, doesn’t count however). Well, it looks like Samsung has been listening and as probably most of you know came up with the Samsung Galaxy Note which was first introduced this year at the IFA in Berlin.

If the last time we talked about Samsung’s smartphone/tablet hybrid we glanced at Note’s stylus ( dubbed the SPen ), this time around we’ll take a look at the first Samsung Galaxy Note commercial.

The promo is showing off the Samsung Galaxy Note’s ability to perform well in a number of tasks. First of all, you can really enjoy 720p content on the 5.3 inch Super AMOELD HD screen which has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. If you find something you like there, feel free to start editing media on the Galaxy Note, as you can cut, copy, paste and draw with ease thanks to the S-Pen. You can also save those edited images, send them via messages, share them on social networks and the whole nine yards, with ease.

The video ends trying to remind you that you are not dealing with a tablet but a smartphone, so making calls of off this baby is a given. Apart from the 5.3 inch Super AMOLED HD display, the Samsung Galaxy Note specs are up there with the best devices out on the market. With a 1.4 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of built-in storage as well as two cameras, an 8 MP rear-facing shooter and a 2 MP front-facing camera, you will never run out of power, storage or entertainment.

Although considered by some as being too large with the 5.3 inch display, the reduced thickness and the overall design make it look natural even in those “smaller” hands ( and seems perfect for the ladies ).

Samsung Galaxy Note Release Date

Even tough Samsung has officially announced, a while back, that the Samsung Galaxy Note release date is scheduled for November 17th, it seems like the manufacturer has changed its mind as it recently announced, in London, that the tablet/smartphone hybrid will be available in Germany on November 1st while UK will be getting it starting with the 2nd so if you were planning on getting one of these, it’s really just a matter of days.

As far as the US Galaxy Note release date is concerned nothing has been announced but there is hope that the device will hit shelves sometime during the reminder of 2011.

Thanks PocketNow for letting us know about the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note commercial.
