These past few days seem to have more stuff going on than the period during CES. Why “seem” ? Because we are getting more tangible information this time around, while CES has mostly came up with answers starting with “well…” and finishing with “coming soon”.
Now the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD has been in our news quite a lot recently as we have followed its rumor trail along with the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD (which seemed at one point to be a Skyrocket HD without LTE). Joining the SkyRocket HD is the Sony Xperia Ion, another one of AT&T’s recently announced and “coming soon” devices.

We’ve gotten the chance to check out some of the specs for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD and according to most rumors, the device is supposed to be hitting AT&T shortly, boasting 4G LTE connectivity along with the same HD display found in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The Samsung Galaxy S2 HD is basically the same deal probably coming to another carrier.
The Sony Xperia Ion is another high end device getting ready to hit the market and we did a small overview of it as well in one of our previous articles.

Although the information given by the Sony rep at CES said that the Xperia Ion is due for launch sometime in Q2 of this year, the latest rumor/leak seems to jump the gun on that one.
The reason for this is that according to some leaked news from AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD and the Xperia Ion release date is set for the 1st quarter of 2012.
Seeing as AT&T is preparing to launch a huge amount of devices on the 18th of March, I wouldn’t be surprised to see these devices pop up at the carrier around the same period.
We can’t give you a specific date just yet, but this latest information is really narrowing it down and if I were to go out on a limb, based on what we know so far, I’d say that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD and the Sony Xperia Ion release date might come shortly after the 18th of March, which seems more of a Windows Phone day at AT&T.
