Samsung Galaxy S3 at AT&T: Retail Release Date Finally Announced

by Mihai on July 4, 2012

In case you’ve followed us for some time, and especially if you were planning on buying a Samsung Galaxy S3 in the US you should already be aware of the unfortunate fact that the release date of device in question has been delayed due to a stock shortage.

Canada has also been affected by this problem, more so than the US in fact, their launch date being delayed by seven days regardless of the carrier. At least T-Mobile in the US managed to split the launch somewhat into a soft and hard launch.

Due to probably low stock and high demand, the AT&T launch has also been pushed back, and last month we’ve reported that June 28 might be the big day when the SGS3 arrives on AT&T’s shelves. That wasn’t exactly the case.

Fact of the matter is the AT&T Galaxy S3 has been available for purchase online and pre-orders have been shipped during the past days, but unfortunately there is no sign of the device on sale, in stores. That’s rather unfortunate because I know many of you want to walk in a store and give the device a try before paying for it. The good news is that you might not have to wait for too long before the SGS3 actually hits shelves.

According to AT&T, Samsung’s flagship handset should be back in full stock starting with July 6th. That’s merely a couple of days from now so if you’re planning on grabbing one for yourself, you don’t have a lot of time left.

As far as pricing goes, as reported before, the AT&T variant is unfortunately offered only with 16 GB of internal storage at the price of $199.99 on a contract. Both the white and blue flavors will be available and, as mentioned last month, the carrier plans on launching a red version later this summer. If red is your favorite color, you might want to wait until then. If not, good luck and make sure you drop us a line after you get your very own SGS3, and let us know your opinion about the device.

Thanks AndroidCentral for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy S3 at AT&T.
