Recently we took the time to talk a bit about the highly anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, specifically the one that’s going to be launched on the very successful Samsung Galaxy S3. As mentioned before, there is no official word on the matter but it’s a no brainer that the Korean manufacturer is working on bringing the latest update to their latest smartphone.
Some days ago we’ve talked a bit about what the rumors are saying concerning the matter and now it seems that new information has surfaced via GSM arena, indicating that JB might be closer to us than initially expected.
Samsung Galaxy S3 and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
Very recently an anonymous tipster revealed quite a lot of information concerning the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and has also shared an alleged official picture depicting the device.
Although the source was more focused on delivering information about the Galaxy Note 2 – evidently – it also claimed that the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 will in fact hit the waves at the same time as the Note 2 will be unveiled: August 29th.
These are good news no doubt, but once again I feel the need to emphasize on the fact that these are not official announcements and should be treated as such. The given information seems pretty solid and we really hope that JB will bring its Project Butter goodness on the Galaxy S3 at the end of this month, but until Samsung makes an official statement we’re not going to put money on these rumors. Well if you ask me I wouldn’t put money on an official announcement either because these are also subject to change, but I digress.
The point is, stay tuned as we’ll definitely keep an eye on the Galaxy S3 and the Jelly Bean update. If it’s planned for an August 29th roll-out then we’re bound to find out more info by then.
Thanks GSM Arena for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) update.
