Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE – Release Date Info and Carriers (T-Mobile, Virgin, Boost Mobile)
It’s been almost half a year since we first heard whispers that T-Mobile will release an LTE-capable Samsung Galaxy S3, but if you’ve forgotten all about it, it’s quite understandable. Not long after these rumors have emerged, the Galaxy S4 has been unveiled and subsequently released. That said, the attention was evidently drawn upon the newer flagship phone.
In any case, after all the excitement and commotion surrounding the launch of the SGS4, we’ll once again take a look at the good ol’ S3, as the aforementioned T-Mobile LTE version has recently reappeared on the scanners.
Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE – T-Mobile, Virgin and Boost Mobile
Yep, the sub-title above is correct. The latest bits of information regarding the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE concern not only T-Mobile, but Virgin and Boost as well.
Starting with Magenta, brand new reports have recently revealed that the carrier in question should soon release this LTE-enabled device starting with June 5th. As we all now, the mobile operator has just launched its LTE network in certain areas, reason why T-Mobile intends on expanding its LTE-enabled smartphone line-up.
Alongside Magenta, both Virgin and Boost Mobile have also taken an interest in the aforementioned gadget. Since both carriers are Sprint MVNOs, the Galaxy S3 4G LTE-enabled Virgin / Boost model will operate on Sprint’s network, which currently covers 88 regions. Availability-wise, the device is said to hit the shelves in June, though no exact release date has been announced.
No details have been revealed concerning the price of the S3 LTE either, but as a point of reference, T-Mobile currently sells the HSPA S3 at $69.99 on-contract.
Spec-wise, the 4G LTE-enabled model should be identical to the US HSPA model (with the addition of LTE radios), which means that you’ll get a 4.8 inch 720p display, a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor running at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and an 8 MP camera at the back.
