Samsung Galaxy S3 at T-Mobile: No LTE Support ? Release Date: June 20th (Rumored)

by Mihai Matei on May 30, 2012

We’ve previously talked about the SGH-T999 device that showed up during a Samsung Galaxy S3 demo video, indicating that T-Mobile will most than likely get a hold on Samsung’s upcoming flagship handset as well.

Now there’s no mystery that the model number SGH-T999 is indeed T-Mobile’s variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3, and according to the latest leaks the handset in question has made a visit to the FCC and is now one step closer to its launch date. And speaking the S3 launch at the Magenta carrier, rumor has it that the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 release date is scheduled for June 20th.

However, what we should point out is that the FCC documents are indicating that the SGH-T999 model number does not have LTE capabilities. On the other hand, it does show WCDMA support for the T-Mobile AWS band, as well as 850 and 1900 bands.

After all, T-Mobile does not yet have an up and running LTE network yet (we’ll get back to you with that sometime in 2013), so there’s not a real surprise that T-Mobile Galaxy S3 is LTE-free.

Nevertheless, if you were skeptical before in regards to a SG3 launch at T-Mobile, we hope that the latest information has given you the needed boost of confidence regarding the matter. All that remains now is for the carrier to make its official announcement, and then we’ll take a look at what changes has the carrier brought to the stock Galaxy S3. We’re quite excited about it and we hope to be able to bring you fresh news very soon.

Thanks TmoNews for the head-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy S3 at T-Mobile.
