Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean at Verizon: It’s Here But It’s Incomplete
The Samsung Galaxy S3 received its fair share of updates so far, one of which has brought the gadget up to Jelly Bean, while the other has bumped the Android version up to 4.1.2 and brought along a handful of improvements, but most importantly, the Premium Suite.
As many of you are already aware of by now, the international model received Android 4.1.2 some time ago, but as usual, carriers do tend to slow down the deployment process, and months after the initial release, Verizon has joined the party and finally delivered 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on its Samsung Galaxy S3 model. The problem however, is that the changelog is not as rich as we’ve expected.

Samsung Galaxy S3 at Verizon Receives Android 4.1.2
Recently we had the pleasure to report that Verizon has published the necessary documentation for the upcoming Android 4.1.2 update meant for the Galaxy S3, and at that time we’ve informed you that, although the carrier didn’t reveal an exact roll-out date, the files should reach your handset momentarily.
Well folks, once again we’re happy to report that Android 4.1.2 has recently started to reach certain Galaxy S3 units out there, so if you do own Verizon’s SGS3 then you might want to check for an update, assuming that you haven’t received the notification already.
On a more important matter though, it seems that the changelog is rather disappointing. We’ve already talked about what changes you can expect once you apply this update as soon as the documents have been published, and we’ve hoped that the Premium Suite will make it on Verizon’s gadget as well. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case and the changelog remains as scarce as before.
Why would Verizon not include the Premium Suite? Who knows… Perhaps it’s one of their “quality assurance” things which in this case it doesn’t make any sense. Or perhaps, the Premium Suite will arrive with a future update. Or, that might be wishful thinking…
Thanks Android Central for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon) – Android 4.1.2 update.
