As mentioned on numerous occasions before, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in North America was a bit disappointing, with Canada’s release of the device being pushed back by a week and most of the US carriers being forced to delay their launch as well due to a shortage of SGS3 units.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date at Verizon
Both T-Mobile and Sprint were supposed to launch the SGS3 on June 21st and it seemed that nothing could stop the release of the device from happening. Meanwhile, the launch of Verizon’s SGS3 was not officially set in stone because it seemed to change from one day to the other. Last time we’ve brought you news about Samsung’s flagship phone at Verizon we were pretty sure that June 12 should be the day when the device will hit Big Red’s shelves. However, once again the situation has changed.
After a long time of waiting for Verizon to make an official announcement about the launch of the SGS3 in their stores, Big Red finally came forth and has done just that. The officially announced release date of Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S3 is a bit different from what we’ve expected so far but, fortunately we’re not looking at a push back, on the contrary.
Long story short, the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available for purchase in the US via Verizon starting with July 10th, two days earlier than expected. That’s quite interesting since we usually report that launch dates get pushed back, and not the other way around, so that’s great news indeed.
In case you plan on grabbing the SGS3 from Verizon in the following days you should also know that pricing remained to same, meaning you’ll have to pay $200 for the 16 GB version and $250 for the32 GB model. Specs are as rad as ever, dual-core S4 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display, ICS out of the box and all the good stuff.
